How can I study for GED Testing?

Studying for the GED Test is one of the most important things you can do prepare for success. Adult education centers can offer practice test to help you figure out what you already know and what areas you need to study. These locations can also provide classes and instructors to help you work through each subject. To find an adult education center, ask your local community college or visit GEDtest.org/start for phone numbers to call in your area. You can also practice sample questions online at GEDtest.org or study at home with one of the many GED Testing preparation books. How many people take the GED Test?

Today, in the United States, more than 30 million adults do not have a high school diploma. But only about 2 percent of them take the GED test. In 2008, 776,000 took at least one subject area test. The subject area tests are: Math, Reading, Writing, Science and Social Studies. More than 450,000 adults earn a GED credential in 2008. Since 1947, more than 60 million adults have earned a GED credential. GED graduates work in every kind of job. They are teachers, lawyers, mechanics, firefighters, nurses and business owners.
